Fraser Trustee Miller to run for commissioner

Sky-Hi News Staff

Fraser Trustee Andy Miller has announced his intent to run for Grand County Commissioner in District One.

Grand County Clerk and Recorder approved Miller’s petition on March 24, allowing him to begin collecting signatures to get on the primary ballot.

Miller must collect 105 signatures. Miller said his 40 years of residency, eight years as a local journalist and involvement in local government ushered him toward the decision to run.

“I think every thing I’ve done up here kind of points in this direction as far as my career in Grand County goes,” Miller said.

Water and finances are the two largest issues that concern Miller, he said.

Incumbent Democratic Commissioner Jane Tollett also plans to petition on to the ballot after missing the Democratic county assembly on March 15. Both must collect signatures from registered Democrats from anywhere in Grand County, and qualified electors can only sign one petition. Miller will be collecting signatures from 3 to 4 p.m March 30 at the Kremmling Library, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m March 26 at the Granby Library and 1:30 to 2:30 p.m March 26 at the Fraser Library.
