Fraser Valley Creative Writers group looks to restructure

Special to the Sky-Hi News

Do you love to write? If so, then consider joining the Fraser Valley Creative Writers.

This group has been meeting for two decades at the Fraser Public Library, and provides support to writers of diverse genres and interests. The group has included poets, local and family historians, novelists, short story writers, essayists and authors of children’s books. All writers are welcome to attend whether you want to publish your work or just enjoy writing for your own pleasure.

Active participants in the group have published books, short stories and news articles on a variety of topics including: crime novels, children’s fiction, travel to Africa, personal experiences of female firefighters, humor at mountain weddings, Winter Park Resort and Grand County history, sustainable housing, rafting the Colorado River, beekeeping, poems of Grand County, etc.

Over the years we have also hosted readings, book signings, guest speakers, workshops and always offer friendly and supportive feedback for writers at all stages of development.

We are currently restructuring the group around our new meeting time of Wednesday at 10:05 a.m. Join us on Wednesday, June 17, at 10:05 a.m. at the Fraser Public Library to discuss the future direction of this group that has been such an important part of the Fraser Valley creative arts culture for so many years.
