Fraser Valley Elementary receives Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award

Sky Hi News Staff

Fraser Valley Elementary School was recently awarded the Governor’s Distinguished Improvement Award.

The Distinguished Improvement Award is given to schools that demonstrate exceptional student academic growth. Schools that receive the award exceed expectations related to “longitudinal academic growth” and meet or exceed expectations on “academic growth gaps” on their school performance frameworks.

Fraser Valley Elementary is receiving the award for the third year in a row. The findings are based on student growth on TCAP scores in reading, writing and math.

The top 130 schools across the state received this award out of 1,734 public schools in 2014.
