Fraser Valley Library artist Kent Van Meter returns
Artist Kent Van Meter will be displaying his paintings at the Fraser Valley Library July 15 to Aug. 15 in the Urban Community Meeting room. Van Meter’s art is of the plein aire technique with many of his paintings concentrating on the Fraser Valley and the Colorado Rockies.
Van Meter is a retired American Airlines pilot, a graduate of S.M.U. and a former Air Force pilot. He and his wife Carol have been visiting this area since 1979, and became part-time residents in 1982. In 1992, Carol signed Kent up for a watercolor painting class with local artist Karen Vance. In 2006, Van Meter began painting with oils.
