In a meeting of cross-county rivals on Friday night in Granby, Middle Park came out on the winning end of both the girls and boys basketball games against West Grand.

In the girls’ game Middle Park went out to an early lead, holding a 7-0 advantage over the Lady Mustangs at the end of the first quarter. The Lady Panthers built the lead to 15-5 at halftime and 29-10 at the end of the third quarter. West Grand was able to get their offense on track in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough to eat into Middle Park’s lead. In the end Middle Park won 46-23.

The boys’ game proved to be a much closer contest. West Grand held a 9-8 lead after the first quarter. The Panthers made a run in the second quarter and took a 23-16 advantage into the locker room at halftime. Middle Park held a two-point lead after the third quarter, 39-37.
