Frisco’s Jim Gulley OK after 55 hours in ruined Haiti hotel
January 15, 2010
Unconfirmed reports from friends and family of Jim Gulley say the Frisco mission worker missing in Haiti has been found and is on his way home. One e-mail said Gulley’s sister, Marla Gulley, reported that he’d spent 55 hours buried in the hotel and had perhaps suffered a broken ankle – but no other serious injuries. Clinton Rabb and Sam Dixon, who were traveling with Gulley, were also rescued.
According to Marla Gulley, her brother had an ongoing development project in Haiti, and visited regularly. He was at the Hotel Montana for dinner when it collapsed, she said. After Tuesday’s 7.0 magnitude earthquake, which has killed tens of thousands, Gulley was out of communication.
