Front Range schools closed Wednesday due to cold
BOULDER, Colo. (AP) – Extremely cold weather is causing the closure of many schools along the Front Range but Denver schools are back in session.
Most school districts around Denver and in and around Colorado Springs and Fort Collins were closed because of Wednesday’s bitterly cold weather.
Denver Public Schools decided to re-open but officials say the final decision on whether to send students to school rests with parents. Any child absent because of the weather will be given an excused absence.
In Summit County, the start of school this morning was delayed two hours because of the cold weather.
