Fuel spill closes I-25 near Colorado Springs
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) – A fuel tanker truck rolled over and spilled on Interstate 25 north of Colorado Springs, forcing the closure of the highway.
Colorado State Patrol Sgt. John Hahn says the tanker spilled about 3,500 gallons of fuel in the accident Wednesday. Hazardous material crews and firefighters were working to empty the tanker by transferring fuel to another tanker.
Transporation officials say the highway is closed in both directions as a precaution.
