Give real change a chance

It feels as though every four years the soul of our nation is on trial. This year, even more so.

As we struggle with old fears and new possibilities, here are a few questions to ponder:

Do we continue with the slo spiral down of our economy or do we say, “Enough.”?

Do we continue to support the “trickle down” theory of wealth or do we acknowledge the “trickle up” of pocketbook-pain that has resulted.

Do we continue internationally with more careless force or do we embrace a policy of true power with increased care and diplomacy?

Do we allow our infrastructure to continue to weaken or do we face it, strengthen it and protect it? Should we consider equitable health care and protected national infrastructure?

Do we move forward or backward as regards women’s rights?

Do we embrace the 21st century or continue to have one foot in the previous one?

The questions go on and on …

Old fears and positive change will always collide, but which do we want to prevail?

As I volunteer for Barack Obama and speak with hundreds and hundreds of you, this is the turmoil I feel and the questions I get over and over again.

Recently, I got to meet Senator Obama and shake his hand. More than the Real Thing, I believe he will guide us in answering those questions.

What do you think? Shall we give real change a chance for the soul of America?
