Sky-Hi News staff report
Grand County, CO Colorado

Winter Park Resort will support local foundations Saturday, Nov. 27, with the new Gobble Hobble Charity Fun Race. Registration requires donation of non-perishable food items for local food banks to be distributed throughout the valley.

At 4 p.m., participants will ski, ride, or snowshoe up and down a 1.23-mile course beginning at Sorensen Park, up Turnpike and down Village Way. Prizes will be awarded for the top three finishers: First prize is a dinner for two at The Lodge at Sunspot, second prize is a frozen turkey, and third prize is a tofurkey.

Food item collection areas will be located in the Balcony House, first level, from noon to 3 p.m. Awards will take place at 5 p.m. in the Village Plaza.

Immediately after the Gobble Hobble is the official lighting of the trees in The Village at Winter Park. This free event will celebrate the beginning of the holiday season from 5-6 p.m. in the Village Plaza next to Starbucks. The Dickens Holiday Carolers will be singing throughout the Village and Father Christmas will be present with his elves to light the Holiday Tree.
