Government is the problem not the solution

President Obama told a group in Wisconsin recently that he is proposing to Congress that they pass a $50 billion infrastructure investment to rebuild and repair the nation’s roads, railways and runways.

Mindful of the public’s anger over the mounting federal deficit, the White House has carefully avoided calling the new economic proposals a stimulus plan, like the $814 billion economic package Congress passed last year.

We do not need to be adding to the deficit at this time. We need to cut spending and balance the budget.

In March 2009, President Obama said this past stimulus would be what was needed to bring the economy back. It was filled with pork and obviously did not work. He has no idea what to do, but throwing more dollars at the problem is not what is needed.

Business owners are afraid to hire, to expand and to invest as they do not know what this president and Congress will do next. The unknown is one of the things that is feeding this economic problem. With no decisions on the Bush tax cuts, the unknown impact of health care taxes and costs along with the continued debt crisis, why would small business owners invest and hire?
