Granby Ace Hardware owner elected to national board

Ace Hardware Corporation announced the appointment of local Granby Ace Hardware retailer Amy Kaplanis to its board of directors.

A total of 11 individuals, including nine retailers and two outside directors, set strategic policy and direction for Ace management. Kaplanis, 43, is an owner of Country Ace Hardware in Granby. Prior to becoming affiliated with Ace Hardware, Kaplanis worked for Accenture in its Consulting and Services practices for nearly 10 years. Additionally, she worked for Black & Decker for six years. Kaplanis is a member of the Rocky Mountain Ace Stores (RMAS) Board of Directors and leads the organization’s training committee. Kaplanis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from George Washington University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver.

Two new member directors, including Kaplanis, were elected to the Ace Hardware Board of Directors at its annual shareholders meeting on June 11. Ace Hardware retailer Stew Elliott Jr., of Elm Grove, Wisc., was also elected.
