Granby athlete excelling on University of Wyoming’s track and field team

Middle Park High School alumnus Daniel Reynolds was recently named the Mountain West Men’s Indoor Athlete of the Week while competing at the University of Wyoming. This was his third conference award and second from an indoor season, according to an article posted by the University of Wyoming track and field program.
Reynolds grew up in Granby and transferred to the University of Wyoming from Chadron State in Nebraska, according to his athlete profile. He holds records in the weight throw and hammer throw events. He won weight throw at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and placed second in hammer throw at the outdoor championships.
Additionally, he broke multiple records at the Wyoming Power Meet on Dec. 7, 2024, when he broke the Wyoming, Hager-LeBar Indoor Track & Field Venue and Mountain West record for weight throw, with a personal best of 22.89 meters.
