Granby Baptist Church has a new pastor, Dr. Kenneth Warford

Kenneth A. Warford is the new pastor at Granby Baptist Church, 1000 Garnet Street

Warford received a Ph.D. in Divinity at Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, Ark., after attending five years of intensive Bible and theological classroom studies.

He has pastored churches in the central Arkansas area for eight years including the Olive Street Baptist church in Pine Bluff of 1,000 members for four years before accepting a commission into the United States Air Force as a captain and chaplain in the Vietnam War. After serving as chaplain for eight years, he returned to civilian life and was commissioned to the Federal Commission. After seven years, he returned once more to the Air Force as a chaplain. He completed 20 years of service and retired as a lieutenant colonel.

After completing his military service he returned to the United States Federal Commission and is now serving in a prestigious position as a Federal Mediator. For the last few years, Dr. Warford has been an active member of the First Baptist Church of Atlanta where he has been receiving teaching and training from Dr. Charles F. Stanley.

Dr. Warford is greatly anticipating the wonderful opportunity to serve as the senior pastor of Granby Baptist Church. He and his wife Margaret (Maggie) have plans to move to Granby and serve the church full time beginning in the fall of 2008.

Mrs. Warford is studying for a master of divinity at Luther Rice University. She is also a board certified high school English teacher, and is certified to teach English as a second language (ESL).

Dr. Warford has several extensive projects to complete with the Federal Commission before being free to move his family to Granby and serve the church full time. During this interim period, Dr. Warford will be flying from Atlanta to Granby in order to pastor the church on the first and third Sundays of each month.

On Easter Sunday, Dr. Warford will return to Granby to conduct services at Granby Baptist as well as a special Easter Sunday Service that will be held at the SolVista Ski Lodge at 4 p.m. Services will be held at Granby Baptist at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend these services.
