Granby members broaden Rotary success with entire club honor

Submitted to Sky-Hi

The Rotary Club of Granby achieved national distinction this week when it was announced that all the members of the club are now Paul Harris Fellowship members.

Paul Harris founded the Rotary Club more than 100 years ago.

Club members worked together in the last year, under the leadership of Club President Mark Shearon, to attain that honor for the entire club. This was done through added contributions and cash contributions from club members.

Some non-member spouses of club members also attained Paul Harris Fellowship membership, which means that even some people who aren’t official Rotary Club members attained the honor.

To be a Paul Harris Fellowship member, a person must contribute $1,000 to the Paul Harris Foundation. The foundation, with donations from thousands of Rotary Clubs worldwide, has helped save and improve the lives of people around the world and enhance international friendship and understanding. Some projects funded by the Rotary foundation include polio eradication, Third World community and infrastructure upgrades, other massive health care projects and the provision of potable water.
