Granby Oktoberfest is Saturday, Sept. 24

GRANBY – Oktoberfest starts with family entertainment and activities at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, and continues until 7 p.m., at Polhamus Park in Granby.

Enter the 5K fun run/walk or, new this year, is a 10K run, with lots of prizes and raffles included. Enjoy the fall colors while running on scenic dirt roads in Granby. Registration is at Polhamus Park 9-9:45 a.m.

Polhamus Park is also the site of a Pancake Brunch prepared by the Granby Rotary, serving from 10 a.m. to noon. Festivities around the park will include live polka music from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and the Triple Nickle Band from 4-7 p.m., playing top 40 country covers, classic rock, and “Americana-Country” originals.

Music, craft and food vendor booths, cold refreshments under the big tent and kid’s activities such as the “bouncy-house,” pumpkin patch, and the fire and EMS trucks on display are all part of the Oktoberfest offerings.

Visitors may also cast votes for the “People’s Choice” in the Downtown Scarecrow Contest. Winners to be announced at Oktoberfest.
