Granby parade entries due July 1

Join the largest small town parade in the state beginning at 11 a.m. on July 3 in Granby. More than 100 entries will make their way down the main street of town as children and adults alike applaud.

Follow the end of the parade to the town park for the Rotary’s barbecue lunch and games for all the kids.

To enter your own float, download an entry form at under Upcoming Events, July 4 weekend, and deliver to the Granby Chamber or stop by or call the Chamber for an application form.

Applications are due by July 1.

Trophies will be given for the best float in each category with consideration given for following this year’s theme, “Trains, Planes and Automobiles/”

Then it’s off to the Flying Heels Rodeo Finale followed immediately by the annual fireworks celebration. Start the afternoon at 1:30 p.m. with the children’s Buckaroo Rodeo followed at 7 p.m. by the Open Rodeo finals. Bull riding, barrel racing and goat tying are the order of the day as you plunge into the old west rodeo.

When the rodeo ends, enjoy the impressive array of fireworks over the rodeo grounds. This display rivals any in the county for beauty and celebration of our nation’s freedom. It can be seen best from the rodeo grounds, but you can park comfortably from many areas nearby and see the amazing display.
