Granby Police Department seeks owners of unclaimed property

Sky-Hi News staff report
Grandby, CO Colorado

The Granby Police Department has several items of property for which no owner has been identified, including bicycles, U.S. currency, tools, clothing, jewelry, and many other items.

The property can be released, if the rightful owner is located.

Most citizens appropriately report incidents of abandoned or found property to the police. In these cases, the police attempt to locate the lawful owners. If the lawful owners cannot be identified, the items are seized and placed into the police property room for safe keeping until the rightful owners can be identified.

The police cross-reference Lost/Stolen Property reports with Found Property reports in attempts to identify owners and return property items. If lost or stolen property does not get reported to the police, it is difficult for the police to locate owners and thereby return the property.

The Granby Police Department encourages citizens to promptly report incidents of lost or stolen property.

Any citizen who is missing property believed to have been lost or stolen in the Town of Granby is encouraged to contact the Granby Police Department to see if it has been located.

The Granby Police Department can be called at 970-887-3007.
