Granby Ranch hosts family fun at Summer Solstice Celebration

Granby Ranch invites the public to celebrate the Summer Solstice in true Colorado style during an adventurous weekend Saturday and Sunday at the ranch in south Granby.Boulder-based country rockers The Unknown Americans will provide live music for the event. Singer, songwriter and guitarist Danny Shafer and The Unknown Americans (Jason Pawlina on drums and backing vocals, Jon VanSpriell on bass guitar and backing vocals, and Ben Gallagher on piano and organ) return to the area to play during the celebration. Shafer and the band are known for their variety of Americana. The bands style is what Shafer calls an amped-up country rock sound with honky tonk and dancing as mainstays.Entertainment is also provided by the Jackman Brothers, who have been delighting audiences with crazy antics, talent, and premier entertainment resources since 1995. The duo specializes in theatrical presentations filled with comedy, music, juggling, singing, stunts, balloon surprises and more.Also scheduled during this inaugural event are a barbecue, fireworks display, chair massage, face painting, fly-fishing the Fraser River, 18-hole Nicklaus Design Headwaters Golf Course, and the new SolVista Bike Park at Granby Ranch.The family-themed weekend getaway Summer Solstice celebration is also a chance for families to discover the one-of-a-kind mountain community with an affordable Stay & Play package at $125, which covers the weekends activities for guests (plus some, night accommodations at a mountain-side location, Sunday brunch and an exclusive mountain bike demo with national pro riders. Families who choose to come up for the day pay $20 per person for the activities and chairlift passes.
