Granby stages annual downtown Halloween fun

Special to the Sky-Hi News

Superheroes, princesses, goblins and kids can have a fun and safe Halloween in downtown Granby where businesses are open for Trick or Treating on Friday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Participating businesses will have pumpkins in the window. Kids can gather candy and goodies, go through the “spook tunnel” at the Granby Chamber (475 E. Agate), then join in on the costume contest at 5 p.m. in the parking lot between Lina’s Pizza and Brickhouse 40. Prizes will be awarded in several categories for families, pets and kids 13 and under.

Free hot dogs will be provided by Mountain Parks Electric (town lot) and there will be a petting zoo at Ma’s Country Cabin and Saloon (one block North of Agate on 4th Street).

Brickhouse 40 will be hosting a family friendly Halloween party afterwards complete with live music and kid’s karaoke, costume contests, games with prizes and more. Kids eat free.

For the little ones, Girl Scout Troup 561 will be holding a Halloween chili fundraiser at the Granby Community Center from 5-7 p.m. There will be chili, a variety of breads, hot and cold drinks, free kids games, and lots more fun. The cost is $5 at the door. This event is to help raise money for their trip to London next summer.

The Granby Police, Grand County EMS/OEM, and the Grand volunteer firefighters wish everyone a safe and spooky Halloween.
