Granby turned out in force to help after accident

To the Editor:

On the morning of Tuesday, Jan. 8, I was involved in an automobile accident on Highway 40 at the corner of Fourth Street in Granby. I would like to express my gratitude to the following for their help that day:

Mark Kreig, the first friendly face on the scene in the initial moments of shock and confusion and the man who served as eye witness; Pat Vigil, who held my hand and comforted me; Elsie Aguilar, driver of the other vehicle, who stayed with me and made calls for me while waiting for the ambulance; the county employees who stepped in on that day and the subsequent Thursday to prepare, serve and deliver the lunches for seniors and visitors at the community center in my absence; Robert Tucker and others who volunteered their efforts to ensure that the process ran smoothly; J.R. and the Grand County EMS and the Granby Medical Center for their immediate and great care.

Thank you to all of the seniors and co-workers who called to check on me and offer their assistance in the following days and Police Chief Bill Housley, who was on the scene to answer my questions and share his expertise with me.

The generosity and concern expressed by so many in their neighbor’s time of distress is encouraging and gratifying.
