Granby will ask citizens to permit publication of legal notices by title only
January 4, 2010
Granby is the next Grand County town to put before voters a ballot question concerning publishing legal notices by title only.
Town Attorney Scott Krob introduced the idea to the Granby town board, saying that he predicts most towns in Colorado are going in the direction of listing legal notices by title-only to save money. The town board agreed to pursue it.
Krob also represents Grand Lake, which also is introducing a legal-notice question on the ballot in April.
Granby Town Manager Wally Baird said if the question passes, more detailed information would need to be included in legal titles so town business is not obscure to citizens.
