Granby’s Big Valley Construction clarifies roles in Fraser Rec District construction projects
To the Editor:
I would first of all like to thank you for the exciting press Big Valley Construction has received over the past few days regarding the awarding of the Fraser Rec Center and Pole Creek Clubhouse projects. After review of the article titled “Fraser Rec District picks two of three contractors” dated 4/3/08 along with “Granby contractor will build Fraser recreation center” dated 4/4/08, we would like to cite a few corrections that we feel are important to the honoring of commitments made to the stated projects along with the maintenance of our own company integrity.
– Article dated 4/3/08 states… “Owner Troy Neiberger will build the Pole Creek Clubhouse.” This should convey something to the nature of “Owner Troy Neiberger will be heavily involved with the construction of the Pole Creek Clubhouse or Troy Neiberger will be an active member of the Big Valley Construction team during the building of the Pole Creek Clubhouse.” We feel that it is important that people know that Troy (as stated in both the Rec Center and Clubhouse interviews) will be involved in both of the projects but will not solely be building or running the Clubhouse Project.
– Article dated 4/4/08 states: “To handle both projects, the clubhouse and recreation facility, Big Valley Construction owner Troy Neiberger said he will hire addition staff, including a full time manager for the clubhouse.” Big Valley Construction will not be hiring any additional staff to run either of these projects, as stated in the Clubhouse interview Big Valley Construction (in an attempt to emphasize the importance of this project along with the uniqueness of both projects and therefore the need for a separate approach and level of attention in regards to the Clubhouse Project), has designated Jeremie Salyards (current BVC employee and company veteran of eight years) as the project manager for the Clubhouse project. BVC felt that they needed to clarify this new assignment in the interview as Jeremie Salyards was not listed on the original staff documents presented for the Clubhouse Project.
– The greatest clarifications that we feel should be presented are the following: BVC already has veteran staff in place to run and complete both of these projects. Jeremie Salyards has been with the company for the past eight years ” no additional staff will be hired for either of these projects, and that Troy will be heavily involved in both of the projects but not solely running one or the other.
Please feel free to call Troy or me for any additional clarifications or with any questions. BVC, again, would like to thank you for these exceptional articles and please accept our corrections and clarifications.
