Grand County Council on Aging receives grant for medical transportation

Grand County Council on Aging announced that is has received a $10,000 Daniels Fund grant to support its medical transportation program.

The Council provides both local and out-of-county medical transportation to seniors and persons with disabilities in Grand County. Transportation is also provided to local nutrition centers and potlucks, and for shopping and errands.

Client donations are accepted for this program and no one is denied service for lack of ability to contribute.

“This grant will enable our program to provide out-of-county medical transportation to Denver, Steamboat Springs and Summit County for Grand County seniors and persons with disabilities,” said Sharon Schoenberger, Senior Coordinator.

Bill Daniels, a pioneer in cable television, established the Daniels Fund to provide grants and scholarships in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming. For more information, please visit
