Grand County Court judge finalists selected

The Fourteenth Judicial District Nominating Commission has nominated three candidates for a Grand County court judgeship created as a result of Judge Ben McClelland not being retained by a majority of voters in the 2014 mid-term election.

Nominees Nicholas Catanzarite of Winter Park, Jacob E. Eppler of Denver, and Heather A. Stein of Hot Sulphur Springs were selected in a meeting on Dec. 19 in Hot Sulphur Springs.

The vacancy is effective Jan. 13.

Under the Colorado Constitution, the governor has 15 days from Dec. 22 to appoint one of the nominees as county court judge for Grand County.
