The Grand County Democratic party will host candidates for the Second Congressional nomination to replace Mark Udall in the 2008 elections.

Announced candidates are Joan Fitz-Gerald, Jared Polis and Will Shafroth.

Monday’s meeting, which will be held at the Granby Library will allow the candidates and representatives to introduce themselves to the Grand County voters, and to the registered Democrats who will choose from among them at precinct caucuses on Feb. 5, 2008.

Following their presentations and questions and answers, there will be a brief business meeting to prepare for the upcoming campaigns and set programs for the coming period. There will also be a preliminary review of what the upcoming caucuses will mean.

Citizens of all political persuasions are invited to attend to learn more about the candidates’ positions and qualifications. The program will start promptly at 6 p.m.
