Grand County, do the right thing: Get informed and vote

To the Editor:

As we enter the final week before Election Day, I just would like to encourage everyone out there to do the right thing and vote.

This is not a letter telling everyone who to vote for, even though I have decided long ago, this is more of an encouragement letter. I urge everyone who is still undecided or even those who are decided but just not 100 percent sure yet to find out what issues are important to them and not only on the national level but also on the state and local levels also.

There is plenty of information on the Internet that can help, not only the Web sites of candidates but also independent Web sites such as that research to find the truth behind the allegations candidates throw at each other.

This year we voters are also voting on 14 referendums and amendments to the Colorado Constitution. I encourage everyone to read about what effect this will have on us. All of them can be found online at It will also reduce the pressure in the booth if you arrive knowing what you are about to vote on.

Isn’t it time that we look past the attack ads and rumors floating around about the candidates and vote for what really matters most to us? So please find out the truth and what you care about and please, if you haven’t done so already, vote.
