Grand County finishes preliminary budget

Grand County’s 2015 preliminary budget shows some improvements over last year.

The county’s beginning fund balance for 2015 is around $25.7 million, up from $22.8 million at the beginning of 2014.

Revenues are projected to be slightly down to $28.6 million from $29.8 last year, and expenditures are projected to decrease in 2015 to $41.4 million from $44.1 million in 2014.

The budget includes tentative funds to stream Grand County Commissioners meetings, county finance director Scott Berger said.

The budget will go before the commissioners for final approval on Nov. 11 and official adoption on Dec. 9.
