Grand County Girl Scouts will conduct food drive this weekend

To the Editor:

Grand County Girl Scout troops are going to be working on a large Community Service Project and need Grand County citizens to help make it successful this year.

The Girl Scouts of Grand County are going to be doing Cans for Colorado project again this year. We need everyone’s help in the community to help us collect food for our local food banks. All the food we collect will be put in our van and brought to the Mountain Community Center in Hot Sulphur Springs. After we bring them our food donations they will distribute it all over Grand County to our local food banks.

Granby City Market will be helping us this year by letting us collect the food at the store. We will be collecting food Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 15 and 16, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. We will have our Daisy, Brownie, Junior, Cadette, and Senior Cadette troops all working this service project.

We hope everyone in the community will help us fill the van in supporting our food banks. We will also have donation cans that people can give cash or checks made out to the Mountain Community Center. The money collected will also provide food and items for the local food banks.

The Girls Scout of Grand County would love to be able to really fill our van to make sure the families in Grand County have food through out the coming months. If there are any questions about our Community Service project please call Terese at 725-3510 or Gretchen at 887-8982.

Thanks you all for your support.
