Grand County isn’t buying what Bob Schaffer is selling

To the Editor:

Republican Congressman Tom Davis of Virginia recently said that if you put the Republican brand name on a can of dog food you’d have to take it off the shelf, because it just isn’t selling.

A case in point is the campaign spot for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bob Schaffer that shows him surrounded by a bunch of school children. What the commercial fails to tell you is that all the children are from a private school.

When Schaffer was on the State Board of Education he voted in favor of a for-profit school company whose owner had given Schaffer more than $3,600 in campaign contributions. This is the same Bob Schaffer who when he was in Congress compared our traditional public schools to communism.

Bob is bad for Colorado and bad for America.
