Grand County Jail Log " Dec. 16
Some people are probably thankful that they will be home for the holidays rather than being locked up as the Grand County Jail saw the number of its prisoners take a nosedive over the past week.
As of Monday, the jail in Hot Sulphur Springs was holding only 28 prisoners. This was a major drop from just the previous week when the jail had 38 inmates. In fact, this is the fewest prisoners incarcerated in about half a year.
Those individuals who were booked at the jail over the past few days, the charges filed against them and the dates of their bookings are:
John S. Tweed, 60, of Morrison, violation of a restraining order, Dec. 8;
John E. Waller, 32, of Grand Lake, third degree assault, Dec. 9;
Veronica R. Martinez, 36, of Denver, failure to comply/habitual traffic offender, Dec. 9;
Juam N. Chavez-Rodriguez, 39, of Granby, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, Dec. 9;
Skye B. Rau, 23, of Winter Park, failure to pay a fine, Dec. 10;
Lila A. Hope, 41, of Granby, third degree assault – knowingly/recklessing causing injury, Dec. 11, Mittimus;
Heather M. Hayes, 47, of Grand Lake, driving under the influence, DUI per se and reckless driving, Dec. 11.
