The Grand County Library District is seeking candidates for two open positions on its board of trustees, one representing District 2 and one at-large.

District 2 encompasses the central portion of Grand County, including Granby and Grand Lake, but both positions are open to any county resident.

The trustees are tasked with working as a team to protect the interests of the broader library community by advising the executive director in the policies, promotion and development of the district.

Preferred qualifications include a strong desire to preserve and promote the library as a public forum for the sharing of information and ideas without prejudice; a willingness and ability to give time and talent to the library; participating in monthly meetings and occasional committee meetings, special library functions and other community events at which the library is promoted; and the ability to assess information and make important decisions.

Terms are two years, and there are no term limits. A job description is available at http://www.gcld.org/trustees. Anyone who’s interested should send a resume and letter of interest to jsloan@gcld.org or mail them to: Jim Sloan, Vice-President Grand County Library District; P.O. Box 1050; Granby, CO 80446-1050.
