Grand County " Littleton man dies of apparent heart attack snowmobiling near Church Park

A 47-year-old Littleton man suffered a probable heart attack while snowmobiling near Church Park on Sunday morning at approximately 11:25 a.m., according to Grand County officials.

Members of his party who found him lying next to his snowmobile and passersby started CPR within minutes. Grand County Search and Rescue and EMS were paged at 11:29 a.m., with the first rescuers on scene at 12:05 p.m.

The victim, 47-year-old Dean Buck, was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:41 p.m. by a doctor. He was transported about seven miles to the Crooked Creek trailhead by snowmobile ambulance trailer.



Eleven GCSAR personnel responded to the incident, along with two EMS paramedics. A Grand County Sheriff’s officer also responded to the scene to document the incident.

All teams were out of the field by 2 p.m.
