Grand County local government meetings Feb. 13 – 17

There are several local government meetings this week, Feb. 13 through 17, in Grand County.

GRAND LAKE

The Grand Lake Board of Trustees will hold a Workshop/Special Meeting and a Regular Meeting on Monday Feb. 13 in the Grand Lake Town Hall Board Room. The Workshop/Special Meeting will begin at 4:30 p.m. and is scheduled to go until 7 p.m. The Regular Meeting is scheduled to being at 7:30 p.m.

The Workshop will being with an Executive Session pertaining to negotiations between the Town and the Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District. The Grand Lake Board will hear from two delegations; one from the Grand Lake Fireworks Committee and another from Grand Lake Fire Protection District Fire Chief Mike Long regarding a draft agreement covering fire hydrant testing and maintenance.

During the Workshop the Grand Lake Board will review a number of topics that will be brought up as action items during the Regular Meeting later in the evening.

When the Grand Lake Board convenes for their Regular Meeting they will begin with a scheduled presentation from Greg Barnes about an off-premise sign at Daven Haven. In old business the Board will consider a transportation sponsorship for the Grand Gala, a fundraising event of The Grand Foundation.

In New Business the Board will consider a letter of support for a fundraising request for the Grand Lake Area Historical Society. The Board will consider reiterating and reconfirming Grand Lake’s support for a Department of Local Affairs grant. The Board will consider sponsorship of the 2017 Across the Divide Geo Tour. The Board will consider an ordinance amending the Town’s general penalty provisions to increase the maximum possible fines for municipal violations.

The Board will consider a Public Property Encroachment Application for Shadow Mountain Yacht Club on Lake Front Road. The Board will hold an Appeal Hearing to consider a denied sign permit application from the Shadow Mountain Yacht Club Subdivision Monument. The Board will consider granting a variance for open space, utility locations and onsite parking requirements for a series of lots on Grand Avenue.

THREE LAKES WATER AND SANITATION

The Three Lakes Water and Sanitation District will hold a Regular Meeting Monday night Feb. 13 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the District Administration Building located at 1111 County Road 48 in Grand Lake.

The Three Lakes Board will hear a request from Gayle Langley for a temporary variance regarding a four-year promissory note for payment of a line extension fee. Francesca Cowgill will hold a discussion with the Board regarding the District’s sewer main extension program and the basis for grant variances for compelled connections and the Board’s decision making process based on historic documents and studies.

The Three Lakes Board will consider a Kennedy/Jenks proposal to update the District’s 2010 Facilities Plan. The Board will consider rehiring Moses, Wittemyer, Harrison and Woodruff for the year 2017 for professional services. The Board will consider changes to district regulations regarding grease traps and interceptors. The Board will consider the district’s bonus program features for 2017 and will appoint a sub-committee to review the bonus program for 2018 and future years.

GRANBY

The Town of Granby is scheduled to hold a regular Board of Trustees meeting beginning at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday Feb. 14.
