Grand County local government meetings this week

There are several local government meetings this week, Sept. 26 through Sept. 30, in Grand County.

The Grand Lake Board of Trustees will hold a Workshop meeting beginning at 5 p.m. at the Grand Lake Town Hall on Monday Sept. 26, 2016. The meeting will begin with a discussion item from Grand Lake Town Manager Jim White and will also include consideration of a discussion of Constitution Week in Grand Lake and public comments received regarding the event.

The Board will reconvene for a Regular Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday night. The Regular Meeting will include presentations from Samantha Bruegger from the Grand Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Grand County Commissioner Candidate for District 1 Andy Miller. The Board will review minutes from the Sept. 12 2016 Board meeting as well as tax cash flow and financial reports from Aug. 2016.

The Board will consider a Special Event Liquor Permit application from the Grand Arts Council for their “Classical Concert featuring Peggy Mann” event. The Board will also hold a discussion of the public comments received regarding the recently held Constitution Week event.

The Town of Granby Board of Trustees will hold a regular meeting beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 27 at the Granby Town Hall located at Zero Jasper Avenue in Granby. The Board will hear an update on the Mountain Family Center from the Center’s Executive Director Helen Morton Sedlar. The Board will discuss and possibl approve a second lease agreement between the Town and the Granby Play Days Preschool. Dave Naples will update the Board on Granby’s still-in-construction Railroad Museum

The Board will also hold a discussion and possible approval of a fourth amendment to the 2006 agreement for treatment of sewage between the Granby Sanitation District and the Town of Granby regarding Kaibab Park. The Board will also hear a request from Granby Elementary School Principal, and current Town Board Trustee, Jane Harmon regarding the establishment of a school safe zone near Granby Elementary.

The Fraser Valley Recreation District will hold a meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 27 at the Grand Park Community Recreation Center. On the agenda is the discussion of a possible aerial adventure park and outdoor climbing tower at the Fraser Valley Sports Complex.

The Grand County Board of County Commissioners will have a meeting at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday September 27 at the Grand County Administration building.

The Winter Park Planning Commission will meet at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27 at the Winter Park Town Hall.

The Town of Fraser Planning Commission will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28 at the Fraser Town Hall.
