Grand County local government meetings this week

Local government meetings are fairly light this week, Oct. 31 through Nov. 4, 2016, in Grand County.

The East Grand School District (EGSD) Board of Education will hold a Community Forum for parents and students at Middle Park High School (MPHS) beginning at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 1. A release about the Forum from the EGSD states, “Please join the EGSD Board in the MPHS Common Area to discuss upcoming issues and concerns in a small group setting.”

Following the Community Forum the EGSD Board of Education will hold a Work Session Meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. at MPHS. The Board will celebrate the MPHS Cross Country Team and will also recognize teachers and staff that presented at the annual Collab Day in Steamboat Springs.

In other business the EGSD Board will review Higher Ed and Internships and CTE as part of their Education/Instruction segment of the meeting. A roundtable will be held to discuss issues from each of the various schools within the EGSD.

The Board will accept the resignation of Board Member Bambi Statz.

District Superintendent Frank Reeves will also report to the Board on numerous issues including: the Oct. 1 student count, Superintendents meetings, the Rural Education Council and Agenda formatting.

The Town of Granby will hold a continuation for the ongoing budget workshop for the 2017 Town Budget at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night Nov. 1.

The Town of Grand Lake will hold a Planning Commission Regular Meeting, if there is an agenda, beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 2. Grand Lake will also hold a Board of Adjustment Meeting at 6 p.m. on Thursday Nov. 3.
