Grand County needs to help Sen. Dan Gibbs stop I-70 toll proposals

To the Editor:

Grand County Residents, our Colorado State Senator, Dan Gibbs, encourages us to get involved in a very important fight to stop the I-70 tolls proposed by Senators Andrew McElhany and Chris Romer. Senator Gibbs is fighting to stop this lunacy, but he needs your voice to be heard loud and clear.

DO this asap: Call Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman John Morse at (303) 866- 6364 or e-mail him NOW at john.morse.senate@state.co.us. Tell the Appropriations Committee NO on the proposed I-70 toll for Grand County residents.

If Clear Creek and Summit County residents don’t have to pay the I-70 toll, why should Grand County residents carry the burden? Our average income levels are a lot less than those counties. Fewer tourists will come to our Grand County resorts and the price of food will have to increase, let alone our having to pay a toll to just go home after seeking medical care or attending a Denver-area business meeting with an I-70 toll from Floyd Hill to our U.S. Highway 40 turnoff.

Make your voice heard now … before it is too late.
