Grand County police blotter, July 17: Smoking and camp fire
TUESDAY, JULY 17
Criminal mischief — It was reported at around 8:45 a.m. that it appeared someone attempted to pry open a window overnight at Bank of the West in Fraser.
Code violation — Authorities received a report at around 10:20 a.m. from a party on the 1,000-block of County Road 507 in Fraser who indicated construction workers were smoking outside of a residence. The reporting party was concerned about it being a fire ban violation. Authorities issued a verbal warning to the smokers.
Suspicious person — Authorities received a report at around 1:25 p.m. from a person at Idlewild Campground in Winter Park that several people were occasionally stopping and walking around other people’s campsites.
Theft — It was reported at around 5:50 p.m. from a party on Forest Service Road 120.4 near South Supply in Grand Lake that they found all their camping gear, food, tent and belongings had been stolen.
Code violation — Authorities received a report just before 10 a.m. that a house on Jackson was having a camp fire. A warning was given.
Information report — It was reported at around 11 p.m. that a man on County Road 4911 near South Supply Creek could see a large glow from his residence. He reported that it didn’t appear to be a fire, but would like it checked out. A few minutes later the lights were gone.
