Grand County police blotter: Pounds of pot in backpack, neighbor shoots dog
THURSDAY, Aug. 3
Theft — The Grand County Sheriff’s Office received responded at around 12:30 p.m. to a location in Parshall on a report of missing vehicle license plates. It was reported that the theft occurred in Denver.
Ambulance call — Fraser-Winter Park Police responded at around 4 p.m. to The Peak in Winter Park on a report from a male subject who stated someone was trying to rape him. He did not sound legitimate and gave police two different locations. One party was detained. The male subject needed medical evaluation on a possible marijuana overdose.
Drunk subject — Police responded at around 8:40 p.m. to Highway 40 near Mile Marker 225 after receiving a report of a male wearing tie-die clown pants and heading westbound outside Fraser. The man was reportedly waving his arms around and struggled to walk.
FRIDAY, Aug. 4
Suspicious vehicle — Police were notified at around 5 p.m. of a suspicious vehicle in the middle of the field near The Foundry in Fraser. Police discovered the vehicle was there to set up the course for the 10K run event.
SATURDAY, Aug. 5
Suspicious person — Police were notified at around 11:20 a.m. of a suspicious person at Ninth Street and Park Avenue in Kremmling. It was reported that an adult male with a backpack was yelling at a woman. The subject entered Kum & Go in Kremmling with his backpack and advised the clerks that he had two pounds of marijuana on his person. The subject then moved on.
Fire call — Officials received a report at about 1:30 p.m. on the 800 block of Lake Avenue in Grand Lake of a strong smell of gas outside the structure. The scene was evacuated. It was found to be a barbecue grill’s propane tank left on.
Criminal mischief — Grand County Sheriff Deputies responded at around 6:30 p.m. to the 3000 block of County Road 2415 in Kremmling after receiving a report that a neighbor shot a person’s dog. The reporting party stated that the neighbor admitted to shooting the dog. A court summons was issued to the neighbor by the deputies.
SUNDAY, Aug. 6
Missing person — Granby Police received a report just before 2:30 p.m. of a four-year-old that went missing and was last seen 20 minutes earlier. The child was located shortly after and their grandparents were on the scene.
MONDAY, Aug. 7
Suicidal subject — Grand County EMS was called to an undisclosed location in Fraser just after 1 p.m. on a report of a female making suicidal statements. The female subject reportedly attempted to leave, crawled under a vehicle but was restrained by friends. Neighbors contacted police reporting a disturbance. EMS responded for evaluation of the female, who was intoxicated. (Minor incidents have been omitted from this report.)
