Grand County ranch sale tops $14 million

Sky-Hi News Staff

A 6,000-plus acre ranch property north of Kremmling has sold for more than $14 million.

Kremmling-based Peak Ranch Inc. sold the property to Diamond Peak Ranch Inc. for $14,450,000 on Nov. 19, according to data from the Grand County Assessor’s website.

The property encompasses a large swath of land on both sides of U.S. Highway 40 in the northwest corner of the county, including Whiteley Peak and Whitely Peak Reservoir.

Bill George, of Mason and Morse Ranch Company in Kremmling, said that, though he wasn’t aware of the specifics of the deal, buyers are seeing lots of opportunity in land right now, and especially in ranch properties.

Livestock commodities have increased in value over the last few years, adding to the attractiveness of a ranch as an investment, George said.

“It’s kind of a little perfect storm going where people are really getting involved and buying up a lot of these ranches for sale,” George said.
