Grand County Sheriff Rod Johnson announces his plans to run for re-election to the Office of Sheriff.
Johnson started his law-enforcement vocation in 1984 as deputy sheriff for the Grand County Sheriff’s Office and has served as sheriff since 1993. “I have not only made law enforcement my career, I have made serving Grand County a career also,” Johnson said.
“The citizens of Grand County deserve effective and efficient law enforcement with a high level of integrity and I am committed to these values,” he continued in statements. “The issues facing law enforcement today are more difficult than ever before. Experience is a key component in managing the complexities of the Office of Sheriff. I want to keep my many years of experience working for people of Grand County.
“I believe the Office of Sheriff should accessible and open to the public.
“Grand County is facing many diverse and intricate problems and I accept the challenges ahead. The criminal justice system has become very complicated over the years and there is no one answer for all the issues we face today. There are very few things that experience, common sense, and hard work can not overcome.
“This is a wonderful county and I want to help by doing my part and keep it a great place to live. I would like to continue as Grand County Sheriff and work to make a positive difference. I ask for your support in the upcoming primary and general elections, “ he said.
