Grand County: What conservation issues are most important to you?

The Middle Park Conservation District is mandated to provide conservation services to Grand and Summit Counties. All landowners in unincorporated areas of the counties are considered constituents or customers of the District. We will be updating and developing a new 3-year Long Range Plan. We need input from the public to guide in the development of this plan. Our current plan emphasizes the following conservation issues: 1. Range, Hay & Pasture Improvement; 2. Water Quality and Quantity; 3. Land and Water Use; and 4. Wildlife Management. What other broad areas do you have concerns about? We need to know what you think about each of the above 4 general categories and if you have others that reach beyond them, for example: forestry. You may give us your input by calling Bonnie at 724-3456. Another way is to mail your comments to us at PO Box 265, Kremmling 80459. The easiest way would be to contact us by email: We should have a website up and running sometime in July and you will be able to contact us that way too. We have a questionnaire that we can send you if you’d like to fill it out. We are developing an email list for our customers and constituents. So please contact us to get your name on our list. We can send the questionnaire, newsletters and other announcements on a regular basis that way. This is a way for you to have a voice in directing our efforts towards soil erosion prevention, noxious weed control, wildlife habitat enhancement, water quality, forestry issues or education. Please let us hear from you.
