Grand Dog candidate: Ozzi
Grand Dog is a collaborative fundraiser for Advocates for a Violence-Free Community and Grand County Pet Pals to raise awareness that violence affects everyone in the home- adults, children, and pets. Every week we will be highlighting a different “candidate”. To see all of the candidates and vote for your favorite, please visit gcadvocates.org.
A Vote for Ozzi is SPOT ON!
Hello. My name is Ozzi. I am running for Grand Dog because I LOVE GRAND COUNTY! I enjoy my time with my family fishing, hiking and bike riding. I also enjoy camping and make sure my Frisbee goes with me. But my biggest all time love is CHEESE!
I volunteer with the 4-H Dog Project and am working on my own obedience skills. I am currently working with my human to help her lose weight by taking her on long walks and bike rides. She could seriously do this a LOT more.
“Tricks for treats” is my motto, did I already mention that I LOVE CHEESE?! I also really enjoy getting attention from people and love, love, love kids. Kids usually have a cookie or something in their hands and they like to share their food with me.
I participated in the Grand County Talent Show once with a friend of mine but I prefer the smaller more personal performances such as doing tricks for table scraps at the Kremmling Senior Potluck on Fridays. The Kremmling Seniors are always patient and let me perform my new and old tricks for them.
In the fall I hope to perform at the Kremmling Library and have been learning some new tricks for the kids. I want to help the libraries in our county stay open because they are a very important part of our communities.
I also believe it is very important to teach people how to treat others and how to treat animals. I ran for Grand Dog a couple of years ago and I think it is a worthy fundraiser for the Advocates for a Violence-Free Community and the Grand County Pet Pals. We need to help get the word out.
I am not very big in size but I have a big heart. I am always checking on my humans and get a little stressed out when they are strung out on a hiking trail or fishing. I like to keep all of my “ducks in a row” so to speak.
If you vote for me I promise to fulfill my duties around the county shaking paws and licking babies!
Sincerely, Ozzi Dog and Caroline Smith.
