Grand Foundation receives major gift from the Sprout Foundation, Inc.
A 1.8 Million Donor Advised Fund that will benefit the Grand County Community.
The Grand Foundation and the Sprout Foundation are pleased to announce a new donor advised fund at the Grand Foundation under the name of ‘”The Sprout Foundation Fund”.
The Sprout Foundation was created in 2006 from funds donated by Bob and Suzanne Fanch, owners of Devil’s Thumb Ranch in Tabernash, Colorado. As part of their continual support of Grand County, the Sprout Foundation Fund created this donor advised fund in the amount of $1,840,000 at the Grand Foundation.
The grant application process is being finalized and should be available to applicants by March 15, 2010. There will be a minimum of three granting cycles. Applications for the first cycle will be due May 1, 2010, the second cycle September 1, 2010 and the third cycle January 1, 2011.
The primary focus of grants given out will be to 501C-3 organizations where emphasis is on children, youth and/or the environment, as well as those organizations that beneficially impact these areas. Continuity and sustainability of the organization, and benefit to the community will be important considerations in the granting process. Grant requests should be for a minimum of $5,000.
