Grand Lake Board of Trustees approves distracted driving policy for town employees
The Grand Lake Board of Trustees met Monday, March 10, at Town Hall and discussed a distracted driving policy that will be added to the town’s safety manual.
The policy was implemented to reduce the incidence of driver distractions and to ensure the safety of town employees and others. Additionally, the policy will ensure that the town is in compliance with other motor vehicle laws and reduce risk.
This distracted driving policy will apply to all town employees, and violations of the policy will be “considered a serious matter and may be subject to disciplinary action.”
Trustees passed the policy unanimously.
In other business:
- Grand Lake resident Andy Tomlinson spoke during public comment to ask the town to improve the Grand Lake Center’s weight room and update some rules surrounding the weight room. Another resident asked that the town release a year-in-review report detailing accomplishments by the town and how taxpayer money was used by the town. One resident thanked town staff for the Grand Lake Skijoring event and expressed interest in continuing the event.
- The town approved a liquor license for new restaurant Taco About It at 712 Grand Ave.
- Trustees approved a resolution authorizing cash account and safe deposit box signers.
