Grand Lake Chamber launches executive director search
GRAND LAKE – Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lisa Jenkins
turned in her resignation on Jan. 21 to return to work at the Jenkins family
business The Gateway Inn, Grand Lake.
Jenkins took the helm of the chamber at one of the organizations most
tumultuous times, when it was discovered the former executive director was
charged with and pled guilty to embezzling payroll funds and fixing QuickBooks files. That was in 2010, and Jenkins made good on her commitment to give the chamber two years on the
job, she said, saying she couldnt at the time promise longer than two
“I feel comfortable knowing the next director is coming in to a more stable
chamber,” she said on Tuesday. “Im very happy about that.”
Jenkins hopes the selection committee chooses a “forward thinker to take the
chamber to the next level.” A selection committee has been formed made up of
chamber board members, town officials and Grand County Tourism Board
members. Resumes for the job are due to the chamber the end of today,
Wednesday, Feb. 6. As of Tuesday, the chamber had received 11 resumes thus
far. Next week the committee plans to set interviews, with a tentative date
to make an offer Feb. 22.
Jenkins plans to stay on the board in an advisory roll until the elections
in September, she said. Her last day of work as executive director is March
