Grand Lake holds community engagement meeting April 17

Grand Lake will hold a Community Engagement meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, in the Grand Lake Community House at 1025 Grand Avenue. The town’s community engagement committees, which include Branding, Marketing, Design, Economic Development, Funding, Steering and the Grand Lake Creatives, will provide updates on progress over the past quarter. Brief presentations will also be provided by Grand Lake’s Town Manager, David Hook, and the Executive Director of the Grand Lake Chamber of Commerce, Samantha Miller.

The various committees were formed early last year during the Downtown Assessment conducted by Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI). The committees have been meeting once or twice a month with the overall goal of enhancing the Grand Lake experience for the town’s residents, visitors, second home owners, and businesses. There is still an opportunity for members of the community who haven’t joined a committee to get involved and make a difference in Grand Lake’s future.

Some of the highlights of the meeting will include the new design for Grand Lake’s billboard on Highway 34, presentation of the winning entry in Grand Lake’s logo contest, an update on future wayfinding signage and the boardwalk redesign, and an update on potential new events. There will also be committee breakout sessions in which people can learn more about the workings of the various committees and get involved. Snacks will be provided.
