Grand Lake man’s concerns about tree spraying will soon be moot
July 9, 2008
To the Editor:
I got a chuckle out of Lenny Brooks efforts to control tree spraying in Grand County. It seems to me we now have three kinds of trees: dead and dying lodge pole pines and aspens.
Lenny should hang around for a few years and there won’t be any trees left to spray. Had the forest been managed, this blight may not have happened. It is nature’s way.
I have taken down 52 of the 83 trees I started with nine years ago, but I now have some beautiful ground cover and fodder for the wildlife. I will take down the rest in the fall.
I really get sick of these so-called environmentalists who care more about trees and animals than they do about people.
The only thing I can say is, good luck Lenny, or should we call him the Man of La Mancha?
