Grand Lake snowmobilers lost, GCSAR setting up command center at Idelglen

Snowmobilers lost in Grand Lake trail system this morning.

Grand County Search and Rescue has set up a command center in Idelglen parking lot off County Road 4 in Grand Lake.

Four experienced snowmobilers are lost and overdue in the Grand Lake trail system and are said to be local to Grand County, according to John Sanderson, spokesman for Grand County Search and Rescue

As of 7:25 a.m. Monday morning the snowmobilers last contact was 11 a.m. on Sunday. Details of their location are unknown and rescue crews have received a few pings from a cellphone but nothing is conclusive.

FEMA funds East Troublesome, Cameron Peak recovery

The Federal Emergency Management Agency awarded $2.17 million to the Colorado division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management for grant management costs as part of recovery efforts from the East Troublesome and Cameron Peak fires.
