Greening the MLS
April 28, 2011
The Grand County Board of Realtors (GCBOR) is enhancing the MLS to include fields to define “green” features as recommended by the Governor’s Energy Office.
The changes will be presented during a free “Greening the MLS” training event in Granby on May 4.
Those interested are urged to attend and learn what the features are and be prepared to leave with these tools:
• An understanding of resource-efficient home systems, building methods and appliances.
• Grasp of the various green home certifications, how they are defined and how they affect the value of a home.
• Familiarity with an energy audit, how to get it and what benefits it can provide.
• Information about how to mitigate the risk of misrepresenting green features.
GCBOR is encouraging 100 percent participation from its members. In order to qualify for the continuing education credit, members should be sure to register with the Board office when they RSVP.
The event is open to the public. Register and RSVP by calling 970-887-9588. Questions? Contact Becky Brosh, 970-531-0704 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
